We are excited about the new partnership between Ergolain and Sedus

We are pleased to announce a new, strategically important partnership between Ergolain and the German office furniture manufacturer Sedus. This partnership is a common step towards a sustainable, ergonomic and human-centered work environment in Lithuania.

In recent years, we have clearly seen a change: companies are no longer looking for just functional furniture. What matters to them is a brand that represents values, has a history, experience and vision. This is exactly what Sedus is – a company that has been shaping the culture of workspaces in the European context since 1871.

Meet SEDUS

As Ergolain Marketing Manager Agnė Igarytė notes, “When we talk about products, we often focus on functionality, but we forget what is really important – emotions. Behind that emotion lies the health, well-being, ergonomics and other essential aspects. We value our partnership with Sedus, because our understanding of these elements perfectly coincides.”

The partnership with Sedus opens up the opportunity for us to offer our customers solutions that are based on deep research, innovative design principles and more than a hundred years of experience. By the way, it was Sedus that introduced the first spring-loaded swivel office chair in Europe in 1926 – this was a fundamental turning point in the development of ergonomics in the office environment.

Having visited Orgatec, the main European office solutions exhibition, we had the opportunity to get to know the Sedus team, their latest concepts and products first-hand.

“The future of office design is not only about functions, but also about emotions,” Agnė summed up her impressions after the exhibition. “The meeting only confirmed what we have long believed: that a workspace should speak not only through materials or forms, but also through the feeling it leaves in the employee.”

Socially responsible brand

Sedus stands out not only for its history, but also for its sustainable approach – as much as two-thirds of its profits go back to society: through investments in education, children, nature conservation and social projects. The company is managed by two independent charities, so each product chosen by the customer becomes a contribution to a better society. This is especially important for customers looking for a responsible business partner.

Sustainability has been an integral part of Sedus’ DNA since the 1980s: the company systematically takes care of the ecological, social and economic aspects of its operations.

The company invests around 15 million euros annually in the modernization of production, product development and sustainability. Its own research and development center guarantees the highest quality, ergonomics and the ability to create personalized solutions. In addition, Sedus has more than 150 product families for hybrid work environments: from height-adjustable desks to innovative meeting areas such as the Smart Work Café.

Smart Work Café – more than a lounge

One of the most striking concepts created by Sedus is the Smart Work Café. The space, based on this concept, is designed to be clearly different from the traditional office or home environment, while offering public areas for spontaneous conversations and private corners for concentrated work or confidential meetings. This design model allows employees to choose the most suitable environment according to their mood or task.

This is a new generation of work area that combines the functionality of an office with the atmosphere of a café. The concept was born from in-depth sociological and work culture research, analyzing what really motivates employees to return to the office after the pandemic. Research shows that employees value flexibility, an informal atmosphere and the opportunity to combine concentration with socialization.

The hybrid work model and the increasing trend of working from so-called third places – hotels, airport cafes or city cafes – are changing what a modern office should look like. At the same time, social media and technology, while providing quick access to information and connectivity, are increasingly causing a lack of emotional connection between colleagues.

Combining these two trends, the Smart Work Café concept was born. It redefines how a typical office looks and works: Sedus offers homey colors, soft fabrics, warm textures and furniture that are reminiscent of a café in their aesthetics, but are designed for work – both individual and team.

This concept has gained particular popularity in Europe – now, in cooperation with Sedus, we can also offer it in Lithuania.

Let's create offices that inspire together

Our goal as partners is to help Lithuanian companies create offices that inspire, promote productivity and contribute to the well-being of their employees. The partnership with Sedus allows us to offer not only a product, but also a vision: the office as an experience, as an emotion, as a place where an employee can reveal their full potential.

We believe that this partnership will not only strengthen our offer in the market, but also contribute to broader changes in the Lithuanian work culture. We are ready to share the experience, innovations and values of Sedus with all of you.
