“In the modern office, the boundaries between work and rest, private and public spaces are increasingly blurred, and the function of upholstered furniture is to create an environment in which the employee feels emotional comfort,” says designer Arūnas Sukarevičius, whose upholstered furniture collection received special attention at the international exhibition Stockholm Furniture Fair in 2020.

A. Sukarevičius says that the design idea and name were suggested by the characteristic structural frame of upholstered furniture, which can be wooden or metal. “This frame surrounds the entire piece of furniture like a bastion, “protecting” the person sitting in it,” says Arūnas.
